Charles Anderson


Charles graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1959 and worked as teacher, sculptor and  mural painter before returning to the easel in 1997.  He may well be responsible for the tallest sculpture in the UK – 53 feet of cast bronze at the Scottish Amicable at Craigforth – and the longest – 400 feet of wall sculpture at the Thomson Sports Centre in Burnley

Awards

A number of prestigious awards ranging from the Chalmers Bursary in 1960 to winning a national sculpture competition promoted by Livingstone New Town in 1996 which led to a commission to provide a figurative group entitled “The Community”
