GRAHAM FLACK




BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

Graham was born in Dromore, Northern Ireland and graduated from Edinburgh College of Art as  a BA(Hons) in 2000 and as an MFA in2002.  He remains there as a part time tutor while he follows his career as a self employed artist.

He has won a number of scholarships and his awards include third place in the 2003 BP Portrait Award and being a nominee in the 2002 Jerwood Platform Prize.

He had a solo exhibition in the Amber Roome Contemporary Art in Edinburgh in 2004 and his group exhibitions include Edinburgh, San Francisco, London, Munich, Korea and Glasgow.

He mixes drawing and painting, working on linen primed with oil and creates layers of colour through charcoal and natural powder pigments.

He said that it was absolutely fantastic to be short listed and that the London exhibition was the icing on the cake.
